Jason Hewitt has produced over 35 feature film and television projects. Jason Hewitt, a native of Louisiana, left the technology industry in 2002 where he was an early mover in the Internet economy, founding the website creation and marketing management company Planet Symphony in 1994. The company gained national attention the following year when it staged the first ever broadcast of live audio and video images of Mardi Gras from three different cities over the Internet. Planet Symphony later split into two distinct entities: Planet Symphony, which was acquired by the Graham Group in December 1995 and StarSeed, which was acquired by Geocities in December 1998 ($33 million) to join the film and television industry. His first venture into film was as a partner in HK Pictures and subsequently he went on his own forming Films In Motion. A serial entrepreneur as well as a musician, Hewitt is an active public speaker and guest lecturer on the topics of filmmaking, music, entertainment, software development, digital distribution of assets, entrepreneurship and the future of the Internet.
After joining the US Peace Corps at the age of 13, Billy spent a year at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki reverse engineering the Antikytheria Mechanism.
After a research expedition in Pumapunku, Bolivia, Billy became a test subject for the European Sleep Research Society. Billy dabbled in aerolithology and ontology before eventually rejecting an internship working with the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland.
Billy spent over a decade in commercial, music video, feature film and reality TV production in his hometown of Miami, FL and throughout Latin America before deciding to take his talents to Louisiana in 2009 where he joined Films in Motion as an intradepartmental production associate.
He was invited to join the Films in Motion team in 2008 by former band mate and owner of the company, Jason Hewitt. He began his career as a production coordinator and quickly worked his way up to accountant and Chief Financial Officer. Todd has helped Films in Motion grow to become one of the largest and most respected production companies in the state of Louisiana as well as within the industry. He has a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Louisiana State University. Todd is a native of Baton Rouge and lives with his wife and son.
Has joined the post-production team at Films In Motion as a full-time editor. He credits his strong writing background and his experience working in advertising, product reviews, newspapers and screenplays as the source for his keen eye to details and good story-telling. Most recently he edited the films Should’ve Put A Ring On It and Waiting Room. In addition to this, he has worked as an assistant editor on the feature Measure of Faith. As an avid aficionado of campy B-movies and the macabre, Matt can usually be found writing, shooting and producing short horror movies in the New Orleans area. That is, of course if he is ever allowed to leave his editing cave at Films In Motion. Matt earned a bachelors degree in journalism from Louisiana State University in 2010.
He is the newest member of the company joining the team as a VFX/3d artist. Leo’s work is diverse and can be seen in the hit franchise Harry Potter as well as on television for the Sci-Fi channel. He is proficient in the VFX programs Maya and 3DS Max in addition to the industry standards. Leo grew up with an avid love of video games which led him to study at Minneapolis College of Art and Design to become a 3d Artist. He found his way down south and is pleased to be a part of Films In Motion. Leo spends his free time being a main character and generally saving the world. And yes ladies, he’s single.
He is an editor at Films In Motion having joined the team in 2009. He has been the lead editor on several studio films such as Lionsgate’s Blood Out starring Val Kilmer and 50 Cent and Anchor Bay’s Carjacked starring Maria Bello and Stephen Dorff. He was the editor on the feature Escapee starring Dominic Purcell and Faith Ford. He is also an editor for the hit series on Discovery Channel, Sons of Guns. In addition to this, Matt is the company’s main editor for all local and national commercial campaigns. Prior to this, he was a producer and director at Shadow Broadcasting working for several local news stations. When not at work, Matt enjoys the open road, drinking water, video games and his iPhone.
She was most recently a producer on the films Switchin’ the Script and Measure of Faith. She was an associate producer on the hit series Sons of Guns for Discovery Channel. She was a coordinating producer on History’s documentary titled: Einstein and The Two Eclipses as well as a casting producer on the award-winning CBS series Survivor. In addition, she has been a production coordinator on films, music videos and commercials for companies like Lionsgate/Relativity, MTV and Nike. Prior to her broadcast career, she spent several years working in publicity for a top, international fashion company dealing with celebrities and their publicists, agents and press. As a result of her 11 years working and living in Los Angeles, she has strong connections throughout the Hollywood industry. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Louisiana State University. And she credits Jason Hewitt with being the best boss an employee could ever ask for…no, seriously – he’s the best.
He was born in New Orleans. Early on he took a liking to movies and often refers to himself as an "HBO kid." He studied film production and post production at University of New Orleans. After graduating, he moved to Los Angeles for a few years. Two years ago he returned home to Louisiana to work on Harry Potter and The Chronicles of Narnia. He currently works as a visual effects artist and sculptor.
Interests include writing, digital painting, mma, energy devices, art deco, jet packs, and the future.
After graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. Jason began his career in television broadcasting. He was part of an expansion of services to television by Shadow Broadcast Services. After helping to complete the construction and set up of two studios and their components for broadcasting to live television, he ran and staffed those studios for four years. The studios provided live broadcasts of the local traffic conditions in the morning, noon, and evening local news shows for three studios here in Baton Rouge. During that time he also produced and edited commercials. In 2009, after the merging of the services of the company with WAFB, Channel 9, Jason went to work at their station. At WAFB he was a crew member who was tasked with camera operation, audio, live remotes, editing packages for news, and working a graphics machine (Deko).
He also continued to edit and shoot commercials. Jason produced commercials for the Baton Rouge Symphony, Medical Training College, Inventory Liquidators, Ashley Home Furniture, and Party Time. He also produced a series of recruitment videos for All-Star Automotive.
In May of 2010 Jason was hired at Films in Motion at Celtic Media Centre and began working dailies on Creature. Since then he has worked on the following films: Blood Out, Escapee, The Courier, and Measure of Faith. He now has experience with data wrangling on set, project set-up and management, film editing, coloring, film finishing, and on-lining the film. Jason can work in Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer. He also knows how to move a film from edit to finish using a Davinci Resolve system (currently the only system in the state of Louisiana). He has learned from accomplished and experienced professionals in the industry such as Academy award nominated editor, William Steinkamp (Scent of a Woman, Out of Africa and A Time to Kill), Golden Globe winning director, Hany Abu-Assad (Paradise Now), colorist Omar Godinez (Primer), director Jason Hewitt (Blood Out), and Resolve engineer David Catt.
Jason is married and resides in the Baton Rouge area. He enjoys writing and producing music in his spare time. He donates his time to the Baton Rouge Symphony by producing all of their concert commercials for air on local television.
Joined the Films In Motion family in 2010 and feels extremely grateful to be a part of the industry explosion in Louisiana and to be part of one of the largest production companies in the state. She is a California native and film fanatic! Often referred to by friends as ‘the human IMDB’. Deirdre has been a production manager and production coordinator on countless feature films, documentaries and commercials working for such companies as Anchor Bay, Lionsgate and JEEP. In addition to this, Deirdre serves as the in-house post-production supervisor having recently completed work on Arclight Film’s feature, The Courier starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Mickey Rourke and the Stephen Sommers directed film, Odd Thomas, starring Anton Yelchin and Willem Defoe.
Prior to this work, she was a travel coordinator for Road Rebel Entertainment in San Diego. California. She received her degree in film and video production in 2009 from S.D.C.C. Deirdre has fallen in love with Louisiana and enjoys exploring the region during her free time.
